Galliford Try Wins GBP72 Million Extra Care, Affordable Housing Deals

29th Jan 2015 07:56

LONDON (Alliance News) - Galliford Try PLC on Thursday said it has secured four new contracts in the extra care and affordable housing sectors, worth a combined GBP72 million.

The FTSE 250-listed construction company said it has signed a deal with ExtraCare Charitable Trust for its GBP36 million retirement village in Longbridge, south west of Birmingham. The development will include 260 apartments and is the sixth Galliford has worked on for the trust.

It has also reached financial close on a GBP18 million scheme to build the Village 135 extra care facility on behalf of Wythenshawe Community Housing Group. The project comprises two sites connected by a glass-enclosed walkway and will provide a mix of apartments split between affordable rent, share-ownership and outright sale.

Galliford said it has also won two contracts from One Housing Group, comprising a GBP9.2 million deal to deliver the Protheroe House scheme in Haringey and the Pretoria Road development in Hackney.

"Galliford Try's track record in extra care developments is second to none and we are delighted that the ExtraCare Charitable Trust, Wythenshawe Community Housing Group and One Housing Group have placed their trust in us to deliver the high quality facilities their customers deserve," said Galliford Executive Chairman Greg Fitzgerald.
