LONDON (Alliance News) - Galliford Try PLC Wednesday said it has been selected as the preferred contractor for GBP48 million worth of two new secondary school buildings being built in Scotland by hub South East Scotland.
hub South East Scotland is a public-private development company created to build community facilities throughout the Lothians and Borders.
Galliford Try said its Scottish business, Morrison Construction, will undertake construction of the new Kelso High School in the Scottish Borders and of Newbattle Community High School in Midlothian.
Work will commence in 2014, and completion of construction is expected in 2016.
In addition to the preferred contractor appointment, Galliford Try said its Facilities Management business has been selected as preferred bidder to provide ongoing hard-facilities maintenance and lifecycle management to both schools.
This contract is anticipated to be worth up to a further GBP17 million over the 25-year concession period.
The stock was trading at 1,114.00 pence Wednesday morning, up 13.00 pence or 1.2%.
