28th Jan 2014 09:31

LONDON (Alliance News) - Galliford Try PLC Tuesday said its partnerships business has been selected for new affordable housing and extra-care contracts worth a total of GBP55.2 million.

The housebuilding and construction group said Galliford Try Partnerships has been selected by long-term client the Extra Charitable Trust to build the GBP32 million Earlsdon Park retirement village in Coventry.

As well as providing 262 apartments for sale and rent, the village also will include a wide range of health and leisure facilities available to local residents and older people in the wider community.

In a separate deal, the business has been appointed by Central Bedfordshire Council as preferred bidder for the GBP13.4 million Priory View development in Dunstable.

The project will see the creation of 83 apartments for older people in addition to integrated community and lifestyle facilities, including a café, health and beauty facilities, and hobby rooms.

In the South West, Galliford Try Partnerships has been contracted to deliver the Creechbarrow project in Taunton, as part of a successful bid through the UK Homes and Communities Agency's Delivery Partner Panel.

The GBP9.8 million project will see the creation of 94 new affordable homes and additional commercial space on Creechbarrow Road, with 32 homes being built for Knightstone Housing Association and 62 for Taunton Deane Borough Council.

The stock was trading at 1,176.00 pence Tuesday morning, up 16.00 pence or 1.4%.
