17th Jun 2020 10:16

(Alliance News) - Galliford Try Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it has been named contractor on two mixed-use residential buildings at Tottenham Hale in north east London.

The construction company said the GBP85 million contract is from developer Argent Related.

The first building, 1 Ashley Road, will provide 183 private sale apartments across two adjoining buildings of 12 and 18 storeys. It will include retail units, commercial offices and associated landscaping and infrastructure. The second, 2 Ashley Road, will comprise 98 residential properties and retail units across two adjoining buildings of 14 and five storeys.

Galliford Try said the buildings are expected to achieve a BREEAM rating of "Very Good". BREEAM is a method of assessing, rating and certifying the sustainability of buildings.

"We are delighted to have been selected by Argent Related, working together to safely deliver much-needed new homes and commercial developments to stimulate and support the economy during these challenging times," said Galliford Chief Executive Bill Hocking.

The stock was trading 6.6% higher at 121.62 pence each on Wednesday morning in London, but down 24% from the start of the year.
