26th Jun 2014 08:17

LONDON (Alliance News) - Housebuilding and construction group Galliford Try PLC Thursday said it has secured four new contracts worth a combined GBP82.9 million.

The company said its Scottish business Morrison Construction has reached financial close with Hub South West Scotland Ltd, a public-private development company working in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, on the GBP26.4 million project to design and construct the new Clyde Valley schools campus in Wishaw.

FTSE 250-listed Galliford Try said it also has been appointed by Brewery Square Development Co Ltd to complete the next phase of the Brewery Square regeneration project in Dorchester. The GBP27 million contract will see the construction of a further 15 retail units and 134 apartments and penthouses at the 11.5 acre site in the town.

The third contract, worth GBP16 million, is to construct a new 230-bedroom Ibis hotel in Cambridge on a Network Rail-owned site adjacent to the train station on behalf of Brookgate Developments.

Finally, Galliford Try's building business has been appointed by Vesta PC Ltd to construct a new commercial office space in Pall Mall, London. The GBP13.5 million project will create 4,129 square metres of Category A office space.

Galliford Try shares were quoted up 1.1% at 1,086.00 pence Thursday morning.
