6th Oct 2015 06:38

LONDON (Alliance News) - Construction and housebuilding company Galliford Try PLC on Tuesday said its Morrison Construction unit has been appointed as the preferred bidder for the East Lothian Community Hospital in Haddington in East Lothian in Scotland.

FTSE 250-listed Galliford said Morrison has been appointed preferred bidder by Hub South East Scotland Ltd, on behalf of NHS Lothian. Morrison will handle the construction of a 23,000 square foot community hospital on the existing Roodlands Campus at the site.

In addition, Galliford's facilities management business has been named preferred bidder to provide ongoing hard facilities maintenance and lifecycle management to the East Lothian Community Hospital. The contract is worth GBP32.0 million over its 25 year term.

"We are delighted to have been selected by Hub South East Scotland for this major project in Haddington. This appointment demonstrates the capabilities of our combined offering across construction, facilities management and investments and we look forward to working with Hub South East Scotland and NHS Lothian to create the top class facilities the local public deserve," said Galliford Chief Executive Peter Truscott.
