Galliford Try Awarded GBP105 Million Leeds Residential Scheme Contract

11th Aug 2020 10:23

(Alliance News) - Galliford Try Holdings PLC on Tuesday said it has signed a GBP105 million building contract for a residential scheme in Leeds.

Shares in the Uxbridge-headquartered construction group were up 4.4% at 104.03 pence in London on Tuesday morning.

The 665-home build-to-rent residential scheme will be constructed on behalf of Highline Investments and located south west of Leeds city centre. It will consist of a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments across five differnet blocks of between 12 and 22 storeys.

On top of this, nearby railway arches will be refurbished so as to accommodate hospitality and retail units.

Chief Executive Bill Hocking said: "We are delighted to be able to start work on such a prestigious development in the heart of Leeds. This scheme is a significant investment in the current economic environment and our excellent track record in the private rental sector has led Highline to place their trust in Galliford Try to deliver for their customers."
