Galliford Try Appointed To Two Frameworks, Notes Contract Extension

28th Apr 2016 07:01

LONDON (Alliance News) - Construction company Galliford Try PLC on Thursday said its Urban Vision joint venture with outsourcer Capita PLC has extended its contract with Salford City Council for three years, and announced its appointment to two new frameworks in the north east of England.

The extension to the joint-venture contract was already announced by its partner Capita earlier this month, and will cover property, regulatory planning, engineering infrastructure and design and highway operation services. The Urban Vision venture was formed in 2005 to provide technical services to Salford City Council.

The extension is worth up to GBP90.0 million in total for the joint venture, of which Capita will get total revenue of GBP60.0 million over three years and Galliford Try GBP30.0 million.

Galliford added that it has also been appointed to a new infrastructure services framework worth between GBP900.0 million and GBP1.20 billion over four years for the North East Purchasing Organisation, which represents 12 local authorities in the region.

Galliford Try said under this framework, it has been allocated to five lots, which are infrastructure works above GBP5.0 million, highways work above GBP5.0 million, marine and coastal works above GBP1.0 million, highways structures above GBP5.0 million and public realm works above GBP1.0 million.

The construction company said it has also been appointed to the civil engineering framework operated by South Tyneside Council, which it said is anticipated to generate around GBP20.0 million of business over its three-year term.

"These awards demonstrate the breadth and versatility of the service provided by our Infrastructure division and, in particular, the strength of our highways and environmental businesses. We look forward to working with all the partners involved to make a high quality contribution to the infrastructure of the north west and north east," Chief Executive Peter Truscott said.
