LONDON (Alliance News) - Galliford Try PLC on Thursday said its building division will be involved in a major framework in the North of England and has also secured two public sector contracts in Croydon, south of London.
The house builder and construction group said it has secured a place on the construction framework, YORbuild2, a collaborative framework covering 91 local authorities in the north of the country.
Galliford said the framework have been procured by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Scarborough Borough Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and Leeds City Council, and said the framework will be over a four-year period with a possible two-year extension.
Galliford has been included in "relevant projects" that are worth above GBP4.0 million, and said the combined potential pipeline from the projects is GBP1.90 billion.
"It is great news that once again we are making good on our stated strategy of pursuing long-term relationships with clients through public sector frameworks," said Chief Executive Peter Truscott.
"Our collaborative approach has once again been recognised by these contract awards and we will continue to provide the very best service to our clients to ensure we make a success of our place on the YORBuild framework and the pupils and patients of Croydon receive the top-class facilities they need," he added.
Galliford also has secured a contract from Education Funding Agency to build the GBP21.7 million Harris Invictus Academy in Croydon, a secondary school that will house up to 1,150 pupils and include a new sports hall, main hall, activity studio, dining area, library, music room, reception area as well as a multi-use games areas, sports pitches and an external play space to the rear of the site.
The other public sector contract has been secured from Croydon Health Services NHS Trust to build the new GBP21.3 million Accident and Emergency facility for Croydon University Hospital. It will consist of 28 emergency bays, an eight bed children's emergency department with its own reception and waiting area, a large resuscitation unit and an urgent care centre for minor ailments and illnesses.
