Galileo Resources Starts New Diamond-Drilling Programme In Zambia

14th Aug 2018 13:27

LONDON (Alliance News) - Galileo Resources PLC said Tuesday it started a new diamond-drilling programme at its 85%-owned Star Zinc project in Zambia.

The company said that drilling is scheduled for around 1000 metres of diamond core drilling to depths of up to 80 metres, with average depth likely to be around 60 metres.

"The Initial programme highlighted the presence of lower but still relatively high zinc values in the karstic material. 3D-modelling defined the presence and orientation of the two types of mineralisation," Chief Executive Officer Colin Bird said.

"We believe that this programme should extend the known ore zone to the east and potentially identify near-surface mineralisation in areas highlighted by the geophysics review."

Galileo shares were trading down 1.0% at 1.15 pence each on Tuesday.
