Future Shareholders Dissent Over Remuneration Report At Meeting

5th Feb 2020 16:15

(Alliance News) - Magazine publisher Future PLC on Wednesday said 25% of investors voted against the company's remuneration report, although all resolutions put forward at the annual general meeting by the required majority.

The company also saw 17% of investors vote against its remuneration policy at the general meeting.

"Having consulted extensively with major shareholders around the proposed remuneration policy, the company is pleased to note the strong vote of support for Resolution Three (the Remuneration Policy), but acknowledges the dissenting votes in respect of the Remuneration Report," the company said.

"We thank shareholders who have been in contact for their engagement with us on remuneration issues to date, will reflect further upon their comments, and publish an update on our ongoing engagement, in accordance with the UK Corporate Governance Code, within six months of the AGM," Future added.

Future shares in London were down 8.5% at 1,188.00 pence each on Wednesday afternoon.
