LONDON (Alliance News) - Funding Circle SME Income Fund Ltd on Monday said it will start buying small business loans in Germany, Spain and the Netherlands with immediate effect.
The company already buys loans in the UK and US, but will now start expanding this across the European market.
"Following Funding Circle's entry into Continental Europe, and becoming a global marketplace lending platform, the Funding Circle SME Income Fund is able to provide shareholders with further geographic and sub-sector diversification. By lending directly to businesses across all five geographies, shareholders are facilitating much needed funding to the real economy, said Richard Boleat, the fund's chairman.
Shares in the fund were untraded early Monday, having last traded at 88.00 pence.
