Fuller To Open 27 Pubs On Saturday But Delays Annual Results

3rd Jul 2020 09:07

(Alliance News) - Fuller, Smith & Turner PLC on Friday said it will open 27 of its near 400 pubs when the UK lockdown eases on Saturday and the company added that it has delayed its annual results.

Pubs and bars are able to reopen in the UK from July, after being closed for more than three-months as part of the UK government's bid to contain the spread of Covid-19.

"The company is undertaking a phased, gradual reopening across the estate," Fuller's said.

After the 27, "further pubs" will reopen in the following weeks and by the end of July, it plans for 80% of its managed pubs and hotels to be open.

"We expect the majority of our tenanted inns to also reopen during July," the company added.

Fuller's was penned to report on its year to March 28 on Friday.

"However, the auditors have informed us that they will need additional time to complete the formalities of the audit process, which has resulted in a further delay to the results. The delay is a result of the auditors' internal processes, with Grant Thornton continuing to cite the complexities surrounding Covid-19 and related abnormal working arrangements as the reason behind the time taken to complete the audit," Fuller's said.

The pub chain was trading 0.8% higher at 763.88 pence each in London on Friday.
