Frontier Resources Receives Results From Zambia Land Gravity Survey

23rd Sep 2013 11:48

LONDON (Alliance News) - Frontier Resources International PLC Monday said it has received final results from the land gravity survey at its Block 34 site in south-western Zambia.

The oil-and-gas exploration company, with assets in Oman, Zambia and Namibia, said the survey tested two profiles of 210 kilometres and has been modelled by a group of specialists in Houston, Texas.

The results confirmed that there is most likely a larger sediment accumulation than first thought in one of the sites and a range of intra-rift faults and high-response zones were found through the study.

Land gravity surveys measure and map the density of bedrock relative to the soil and host rock by testing the gravitational attraction in a certain site.

Frontier said the results, coupled with previous studies have furthered the company's understanding of the area and it is now planning the next phase of the programme.

The company said its next phase may include the acquisition of further analysis studies over the entire area in Zambia.

Frontier Resources shares were down 7.0% to 5.00 pence Monday.
