Frontier Developments Takes Another Step From Games To Technology

21st Nov 2013 11:22

LONDON (Alliance News) - Video game developer Frontier Developments PLC Thursday said its Coaster Crazy Deluxe game is Thursday being released on the Wii U and Nintendo eShop and on Apple devices.

"The releases of Coaster Crazy Deluxe on both Nintendo Wii U and Apple iOS platforms share the same server back end. This simultaneous release is a strong demonstration of the rapidly evolving cloud-based elements of Frontier's cross-platform Cobra technology," Chief Executive David Braben said in a statement.

The company said the move is a further step in its progress from being primarily a developer of video games for major external publishers into a business that develops and licenses technology to support games for major external publishers, other developers and Frontier's own self-published game titles.

Frontier Developments shares were down 1.8% at 108 pence Thursday morning.
