LONDON (Alliance News) - Video games developer Frontier Developments PLC on Thursday said its Elite Dangerous franchise has continued to perform well, helping its first half revenue rise.
The company said its revenue for the half to the end of November was around GBP10.9 million, up 50% year-on-year thanks to the launch of the Elite Dangerous game. The company said it sold 1.2 million Elite Dangerous units in the half to the end of November, in line with its expectations and boosted by price promotions towards the end of the half.
"The first half of this financial year has gone well, and cumulative Elite Dangerous franchise sales now stand at over 1.4m units. Initial reactions to our second franchise, Planet Coaster have been very positive following its announcement in the summer and early development videos released to the public," said Chief Executive David Braben.
Shares in Frontier were down 1.6% to 240.00 pence on Thursday morning.
