LONDON (Alliance News) - Frontier Developments PLC said Wednesday that it has released the first phase of beta testing for its Elite:Dangerous video game, which it said begins the final stage of development.
The video game developer said that the Beta 1 release of the game increases the number of playable star systems in the game, which will provide a richer gameplay experience.
The commencement of this phase has added 20,000 more players, said the company. Access to the beta is available for purchase for GBP50 from Frontier's online store.
"Successful Alpha and Premium Beta phases have allowed us to build out the game in a sensible way, whilst increasing the number of players significantly," said Chief Executive David Braben in a statement.
Shares in Frontier were trading up 5.7% at 280.00 pence Wednesday afternoon.
