LONDON (Alliance News) - Video game developer Frontier Developments PLC Friday said it has released Elite: Dangerous Alpha phase 3.0 to backers who invested GBP200 or more in the company's crowd-funding campaign that raised the funds to develop the game.
In a statement, the company said the campaign has raised GBP2.36 million to date from over 44,500 backers.
"Alpha 3.0 is particularly significant as we can start to see the game itself being built out, as opposed to testing the technology behind it," Chief Executive David Braben said in a statement.
Frontier added that it will demonstrate Alpha 3.0 to North American media next week at the Game Developer Conference in San Francisco.
Frontier Developments shares were up 0.7% at 227 pence early Friday.
