Fresnillo Says Explosives Permit Suspension Lifted At Noche Buena Site

9th Oct 2013 09:25

LONDON (Alliance News) - Fresnillo PLC Wednesday said the temporary suspension of its subsidiary Minera Penmont's explosives permit at Noche Buena in Mexico has been lifted, and it expects the temporary suspension of explosive permits at its Herradura and Soledad sites to be lifted within the next two weeks.

The Magistrate in the Mexican district of Sonora had suspended all Minera Penmont's explosive permits while it consulted with the Mexican Ministry of Defence on how explosions might affect the El Bajio agrarian community. After a review, the ministry said there was no reason to maintain the explosives suspension for the Noche Buena site, which is located outside the El Bajio land.

Shares in the Mexico-focused gold and silver mining company were down 0.3% to 940.00 pence Wednesday.
