LONDON (Alliance News) - Mexican miner Fresnillo PLC on Thursday said it has agreed that Luis Robles will be proposed for election as an independent non-executive director at the company's annual general meeting on May 21.
The FTSE 100-listed company said Robles served as the chair of Mexican bank BBVA Bancomer from 2012 until his retirement in September last year.
"I am delighted that Robles has agreed to join the board. With a broad understanding of Mexican business based on a distinguished career in banking, Robles will be a valuable addition to the Fresnillo board," said Chair Alberto Bailleres.
Fresnillo shares closed 7.2% lower on Thursday at 798.40 pence each.
