Franchise Brands Executive Chairman Stephen Hemsley said: "Peter has been with Metro Rod for 15 years, and has a great understanding of the sector, our business and our franchisees. He has led the development of our new strategy for Metro Rod which is now being implemented. Joining the board will allow him to contribute more widely to the future development of the group."
Also, the multi-brand franchisor firm appointed former Chief Information Officer of Domino's Pizza Group PLC Colin Rees as chief information officer with immediate effect.
"The IT and management information requirements of Metro Rod have allowed us to establish IT as a key central service which we believe will accelerate the development of Franchise Brands. I am therefore delighted to welcome Colin, who I have worked with for a number of years at Domino's Pizza Group PLC, to lead this important function for us," Hemsley added.
The group also appointed Tim Harris as the managing director of ChipsAway and Ovenclean.
Franchise Brands said its Marketing Director Robin Auld will step down after the company's annual general meeting on April 27 on health grounds. Auld will continue to oversee Franchise Brands' marketing strategy during his recovery, the company said.
Hemsley said: "Finally, I wish Robin all the very best for his recovery and look forward to welcoming him back in the near future."
