BRUSSELS (Alliance News) - France has announced it will sell 24 Rafale jet fighters to Qatar in a deal worth 6.3 billion euros.
According to a statement from French President François Hollande's office, the President met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar and agreed to a deal for 24 Rafale combat aircraft. The agreement will be signed on May 4, Monday in Doha, Qatar.
Qatar now has become the third country to buy Rafale, which is manufactured by Dassault Aviation. Earlier, India announced plans to buy 36 Rafale jets while Egypt agreed to buy 24.
