(Alliance News) - Foxtons Group PLC on Wednesday said it has hired accountant Rosie Shapland as a non-executive director, effective from February 5.
The estate agent also said Shapland will become a member of the audit committee upon her appointment, and will take over as chair of the committee from Ian Barlow when he becomes Foxtons chair.
Shapland's hire comes after in November Foxtons replaced Deloitte LLP as its auditor, appointing BDO LLP, after concerns were raised by shareholders regarding 2018 bonuses. Concerns raised included the payment of bonus on personal and strategic objectives despite not achieving group financial targets.
A new remuneration policy has been outlined and will be voted on at the 2020 annual general meeting.
Shapland has 30 years of audit experience across multiple sectors within public and private companies, Foxtons said.
"Rosie has highly relevant experience which will be a significant addition to Foxtons. I and my colleagues greatly look forward to working with her," Foxtons Chair Garry Watts said.
Shares in Foxtons were trading 1.3% higher at 84.60 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
