LONDON (Alliance News) - Fox Marble Holdings PLC said Thursday it has opened a new Bianco Illirico marble quarry at Malesheva in Kosovo.
The marble quarrying company, which operates in Kosovo and the Balkans region, said the new five-hectare quarry contains high quality, compact and consistent dolomitic marble. It said it has already received a number of requests from potential offtake partners to review the samples from the new site.
"Our new quarry at Malesheva is large enough to fulfil growing market demand for high-quality white marble, a type of marble which is becoming increasingly hard to find," said Chief Executive Chris Gilbert.
Fox Marble shares were down 5.9% to 15.30 pence on Thursday.
