Fox Marble Gets Further Berkeley Order; Factory Nearly Complete

9th Apr 2015 08:44

LONDON (Alliance News) - Fox Marble Holdings PLC on Thursday said it has received a further order from a unit of The Berkeley Group Holdings PLC for two different types of marble, has secured an order in Egypt, and is nearly completion on the construction of its new factory.

The marble quarrying company signed a supply deal with St George PLC, the prestige homes arm of Berkeley, in January to supply marble for the Chelsea Creek development in London. It has now received a further order worth EUR570,000 under that deal.

Fox has also secured a small scale order for its Rosso Cait red marble in Egypt. The two deals mean its order book now sits at EUR2.8 million, with EUR2 million to be realised in 2015.

The company also said it is near completion on the construction of its new facility in Pristina in Kosovo, with a further ten days of work still required, after which the equipment for the plant will be shipped from Italy.

"We are pleased to see that Berkeley Homes has extended its order with Fox Marble, which is a testament to the desirable, premium quality marble we provide. Our order book is improving for the year ahead and we hope to add to this," Chris Gilbert, Fox Marble's Chief Executive said.

"The factory is finally nearing completion after adverse weather in Pristina which created unexpected delays. We look forward to updating shareholders with the final stages of construction," Gilbert added.

Shares in Fox Marble were up 2.3% to 17.90 pence on Thursday.
