LONDON (Alliance News) - Marble quarrying and finishing company Fox Marble Holdings PLC on Thursday said its order book has increased to EUR3.9 million for 2016, after signing an agreement to supply marble blocks to Karailias Marble Ltd during 2016.
Fox Marble said that under the agreement with marble trader Karailias it will supply a minimum of EUR440,000 worth of Sivec marble blocks during 2016. The Sivec blocks are white marble from Macedonia. Karailias has agreed to a minimum purchase quantity of 200 tonnes per month with the first shipment scheduled this week, Fox Marble said.
In light of the agreement, Fox Marble said its order book for the year has increased to EUR3.9 million.
Elsewhere, Fox Marble said it has received a letter of confirmation from Manchester-based developer Renaker Build Ltd that it has been appointed the preferred supplier of natural stone on Renaker's projects. This comes on the back of Fox Marble's distribution agreement with Eboracum Marble Ltd, Fox Marble said.
Fox Marble added that Italian-based block buyers Antolini Luigi & C Spa has visited its Sives quarry in Macedonia and purchased two Sivec blocks to be used in an initial trial at its processing facilities. Following this, Antolini confirmed it will return to the site to "purchase further material in the near term", Fox Marble said.

We look forward to long-term strategic relationships with these customers," said Fox Marble Chief Executive Chris Gilbert.
Shares in Fox Marble were up 1.2% at 10.49 pence on Thursday.
