Former EU Employment & Social Affairs Commissioner Joins Coca-Cola HBC

14th May 2020 09:51

(Alliance News) - Coca-Cola HBC AG on Thursday said it plans to elect a former EU commissioner for Employment & Social affairs to its board.

Anna Diamantopoulou, who also founded DIKTIO - Network for Reform in Greece and Europe, will succeed outgoing board member John Sechi.

Sechi will depart following the conclusion of the drinks bottler's upcoming annual general meeting in Switzerland on June 16.

Due to Swiss government restrictions surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, in-person AGM attendance is prohibited and voting will take place by proxy only.

The AGM will include a vote to approve a EUR0.62 per share dividend, with the total dividend amount capped at CHF300.0 million or around EUR285 million. This dividend is set to be paid July 28.

Coca-Cola HBC shares were down 1.7% in London early Thursday at 1,794.00 pence.
