Former Ei Finance Chief Neil Smith Joins Domino's Pizza As Interim CFO

2nd Apr 2020 10:03

(Alliance News) - Domino's Pizza Group PLC on Thursday said it has appointed former Ei Group PLC chief financial officer Neil Smith as interim CFO.

The pizza delivery company said Smith's appointment is effective April 15 and follows the death of former finance chief David Bauernfeind in December.

Smith, who was CFO at pub manger Ei from 2011 until its takeover by Stonegate Pub Co in March, will not join the Domino's board as this is an interim appointment.

Domino's Chair Matt Shattock said: "I look forward to welcoming Neil to the group. Neil will make an excellent addition to the team at this important time."

On Tuesday, Domino's said it had hired Dominic Paul as chief executive effective from Monday next week. Paul will join the board on May 1, succeeding David Wild who announced his retirement in August.

Paul was chief executive & managing director of coffee chain Costa Coffee from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of the International division with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. He also held senior roles at airlines easyJet PLC and British Airways, Domino's said.

Shares in Domino's were down 1.6% at 284.40 pence in London on Thursday morning.
