Former Clarkson Chair James Hughes-Hallett Dies Following Long Illness

16th Oct 2019 18:06

(Alliance News) - Clarkson PLC on Wednesday said James Hughes-Hallett, independent non-executive and former chair, has died after a long illness.

Hughes-Hallet joined the FTSE 250-listed firm, which provides investment banking capabilities and integrated services to the offshore and shipping markets, back in August 2014. He was chair from 2015 until March 2018, after which he remained a non-executive.

"The board will remember James for his great leadership and passion. Even whilst suffering from his illness, James remained dedicated to Clarksons, continuing to serve on the board as a non-executive director and committee member, and we remain indebted for the invaluable guidance he provided," said Bill Thomas, current Clarkson chair.

Shares in Clarkson closed flat at 2,820.00 pence in London on Wednesday.
