(Alliance News) - Former Citigroup Inc President Jamie Forese is to join HSBC Holdings PLC as a non-executive director, HSBC said on Tuesday.
Forese will join the HSBC board on May 1. He began his career at Salomon Brothers, a predecessor of Citigroup. He headed Citigroup's Institutional Clients business as well as its Securities & Banking unit.
HSBC Chair Mark Tucker commented: "I am absolutely delighted to welcome Jamie. His wealth of experience across finance and corporate strategy, together with his extensive knowledge of banking and across financial services, will bring an invaluable perspective to the board."
HSBC shares closed 3.9% higher on Tuesday in London at a price of 488.21 pence each.
