LONDON (Alliance News) - Aerospace engineer Meggitt PLC on Tuesday announced a number of board changes, including the appointment of former Bombardier Aerospace operations head Guy Hachey as a non-executive director.
Hachey was chief operating officer at Bombardier between 2008 and 2014, and also had a "significant" role at General Motors Corp.
Meggitt also said current Senior Independent Director Paul Heiden will step down on April 25, 2019, "immediately prior" to the company's annual general meeting.
Guy Berruyer, who has been on Meggitt's board as a non-executive director since 2012, will become senior independent director.
Non-Executive Chairman Nigel Rudd commented: "Since his appointment in June 2010, Paul has brought extensive aerospace industry and financial experience to the board and his independent advice and counsel during his time on the board have been invaluable."
"On behalf of the board, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to Paul for the significant contribution he has made and to wish him all the best for the future."
"Guy Hachey's appointment enables the board to retain critical aerospace industry experience and also bolsters our North American skills base, where many of our customers, employees and businesses are located, and supports our existing strategic priorities on operational improvements and customer focus," Rudd continued.
Meggitt shares were 1.8% lower on Tuesday at a price of 510.20 pence each.
