(Alliance News) - BlackRock World Mining Trust PLC on Monday announced the appointment of Ollie Oliveira, who serves on the board of two FTSE 100 miners.
Oliveira is joining BlackRock World Mining on February 3 as a non-executive director.
An accountant, he is currently the senior independent director at Chilean copper miner Antofagasta PLC and has the same role at Russian gold miner Polymetal International PLC.
Oliveira has previously held senior executive positions at Anglo American PLC, including working at its diamond business De Beers.
BlackRock World Mining - part of the world's largest asset manager BlackRock Inc - has total assets of GBP856 million. It holds 9.4% of BHP Group PLC, 8.8% of Brazilian miner Vale SA, and 8.7% of Rio Tinto PLC, as well has stakes in a number of other major global mining firms.
