LONDON (Alliance News) - Flybe Group PLC Tuesday said it has appointed Simon Laffin as its non-executive chairman with immediate effect after Jim French stood down, part of a handover that has also seen French also handover his chief executive role earlier in the year.
French joined Flybe in 1990, took over as CEO in 2001 and then added the Chairmanship in 2005. The airline is now re-splitting the roles having appointed Saad Hammad as its new CEO in August.
Laffin is currently chairman of Assura Group and head of the audit committee at Quintain Estates.
Flybe shares were up 1.2% at 65.89 pence Tuesday morning.
