Flybe Signs Deal With Regional & City Airports For E195 Aircraft

8th Oct 2015 07:38

LONDON (Alliance News) - Flybe Group PLC said it has signed a five-year commercial arrangement with Rigby Group-owned Regional & City Airports for one E195 aircraft to serve Exeter and Norwich airports.

The regional Exeter-based low-cost airline said the E195 aircraft will fly eight routes to five destinations in mainland Europe starting in March 2016.

The original fleet contains 14 E195s, five of which were handed back to lessors and two which have been based at Cardiff airport under a long-term agreement with Cardiff Airport Ltd signed in March.

Flybe said it is in active discussions with other parties over the remaining six aircraft.

"Through today's agreement with RCA, Flybe is able to operate routes that will provide much enhanced regional connectivity to the people of the South West and East Anglia, in much the same way as we have already offered to the communities of South Wales," Chief Executive Saad Hammad said in a statement.

Shares in Flybe were trading up 2.0% at 78.50 pence early Thursday.
