LONDON (Alliance News) - Flybe Group PLC said Tuesday that it has signed a services agreement with plane and train manufacturer Bombardier Inc.
The agreement will see Bombardier undertake a work enhancement programme over the coming months to improve efficiency across the Flybe fleet of 45 Q400 planes, with the deal confirming the Bombardier Q400 as Flybe's "aircraft of choice" in its UK branded business, said the airline.
"This strategic agreement with Bombardier is an important part of our commitment to profitable regional flying. The Q400 is specifically optimised for regional routes... Any decisions regarding incremental capacity deployment in the UK will see the Bombardier Q400 aircraft play an integral role," said Flybe CEO Saad Hammad.
Shares in the low-cost airline were trading 1.13% higher at 112.00 pence per share shortly after the market open Tuesday.
