LONDON (Alliance News) - Flowgroup PLC said Tuesday it has launched a range of smart home devices called Flow Home, allowing customers to control devices around their homes through a smartphone app or online panel.
The company which develops and commercialises alternative and efficient energy technology products, said the range includes a smart thermostat, smart plugs and an energy consumption monitor. Flowgroup said the products will initially be offered to its existing customer base, through its domestic supply business Flow Energy, and then it will be rolled out to non-Flow customers.
Flowgroup said the devices will be available to buy outright or customers can pay over a 12, 24 or 36-month period.
Flow Home uses a technology platform provided by Fifthplay, a Belgian subsidiary of the Niko Group specialising in smart homes.
"We now have over 150,000 customer fuel accounts and believe that adding a range of connected home products to our offer means that there is now another reason for customers to switch to, and stay with, Flow. We believe the future of energy supply is a broader offer combining home energy with energy-related products and services, and this announcement is positive news for our business," said Andrew Beasley, managing director of Flow Energy.
Shares in Flowgroup were up 4.5% at 15.67 pence on Tuesday morning.
