Fitbug Holdings Surges As It Targets Bigger Presence In Retail Market

26th Mar 2014 08:30

LONDON (Alliance News) - Fitbug Holdings PLC saw its shares leap early Wednesday after it said it had agreed terms with six retail distribution partners providing coverage in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, South Africa, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

In a statement, the online personal health services provider, said it had appointed Ann Jones, 44, as its sales director with immediate effect. Jones is joining from Lowendalmasai, an enterprise cost management consultancy, where she was European Business Development Director.

"With consumer demand for wearable technology now growing strongly and our clear USPs in the sector, it makes sense for Fitbug to place more emphasis on retail distribution as well as our traditional B2B markets," Fitbug founder and Chief executive Paul Landau said in a statement.

"The appointment of these established distributors with reach into leading retailers is a very exciting development for the company," Landau added.

Fitbug didn't name its new retail distribution partners.

The company makes wearable devices and software that can help with fitness regimes and other health and wellbeing issues.

Fitbug shares were up 13.7% at 0.54 pence early Wednesday, the second-biggest gainer on AIM.
