FireAngel Safety Shares Jump On Further Scottish Fire Alarm Contract

4th Mar 2019 11:05

LONDON (Alliance News) - Fire detector and alarm maker FireAngel Safety Technology Group PLC said Monday it had secured a deal to supply smoke and heat alarms to a further housing association in Scotland.

Shares in FireAngel were 8.3% higher at 26.00 pence on Monday.

FireAngel - known as Sprue Aegis until June - will supply the wireless interlinked battery-powered devices to 700-homes provider North View Housing Association in Glasgow.

The financial terms of the deal was not provided.

"We are delighted to see further traction across Scottish housing associations following the recent new legislation," FireAngel Chief Executive Officer Neil Smith said.

The contract follows greater safety standards being introduced from the start of February as part of the Housing (Scotland) Act.

"Today's contract win with NVHA follows on from recent agreements with a number of other housing associations across Scotland, further demonstrating the requirement and demand for our compliant and interlinked products and further endorsing our strategy in this area", Smith added.

In December, FireAngel signed similar deals in Scotland with 5,800-homes provider River Clyde Homes and 4,000-homes manager Caledonia Housing Association. These followed a 12,000 smoke and heat alarms contract with Glasgow-based Queens Cross Housing Association in November.
