Finsbury Growth & Income Trust's Quarterly NAV Underperforms Benchmark

LONDON (Alliance News) - Finsbury Growth & Income Trust PLC Tuesday said its net asset value total return increased in the three month period ended June 30, but underperformed the growth in its benchmark.

The trust invests principally in the securities of UK-listed companies with the objective of achieving capital and income growth and providing a total return in excess of that of the FTSE All-Share Index.

The UK-based investment trust said its net asset value total return was 1.0% and its share price total return was 0.9%.

This compares with a total return of 2.2% from the company's benchmark, the FTSE All-Share Index, over the same period.

The company said that its net asset value total return fell by 3.2% and its share price total return declined by 3.7% in the month to August 1. The total return from the benchmark index fell by 1.0%.

Shares in the trust were trading 0.1% higher Tuesday midday at 497.19 pence.
