LONDON (Alliance News) - Filtronic PLC said Wednesday it has received production tooling orders totaling USD265,000 for Ultra Wide Band integrated antennas and says it has now resolved previous technical issues.
The designer and manufacturer of microwave electronics products said the order was placed from an unnamed major telecommunications industry equipment manufacturer.
After releasing an announcement in January that technical issues had been encountered in the development of the integrated antenna product, Filtronic said having supplied a pre-production batch of products to its customer in March and April and following a number of tests by a major unnamed US operator, these issues have been successfully resolved.
Filtronic said that the new order can now allow it to bring the product into a volume manufacturing ready state and it is anticipated that production orders will follow the completion of the tooling orders.
The company also said its latest generation E-band transceiver, Orpheus, has shown positive test results and said initial production orders for the product have been received.
Shares in Filtronic trade 24% up at 9.27 pence Wednesday morning.
