(Alliance News) - Antenna manufacturer Filtronic PLC on Wednesday said it has secured two new mmWave design and development contracts worth approximately USD1.6 million total.
The Leeds-based company said the first contract is with a US-based radio-frequency company for the design, development and delivery of mmWave modules for incorporation within their equipment, extending the frequency of the undisclosed company's offering above 50 gigahertz. The 16-month contract has an approximate value of around USD1 million, Filtronic said.
The second contract valued at around USD600,000 and lasting 18 months, will see Filtronic design, develop and deliver transceiver modules for a high-altitude pseudo-satellite provider in the US.
"We are delighted to have been chosen to deliver these technically-challenging projects. It is another fantastic endorsement of our engineering and manufacturing capability and emphasises our position as a leading global player in the rapidly growing mmWave equipment market, said Filtronic Executive Chair Reg Gott.
The stock was trading 3.5% higher at 11.00 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
