LONDON (Alliance News) - Microwave electronic products manufacturer Filtronic PLC on Monday said it has won a USD1.9 million contract with an unnamed US multinational company.
Filtronic said the order covers the delivery of prototype communication sub-systems to enable the transmission of high-capacity telecommuncations data, using E-band communication systems.
Filtronic expects to earn about half the value of the contract in its current financial year to the end of May, with the balance to be made in the following year.
"We are delighted to have been chosen to work on this challenging and prestigious project. It is a terrific endorsement of our engineering capability and underscores our position as the leading player in the E-Band transceiver market," said Chief Executive Rob Smith.
Filtronic shares were up 9.4% to 5.88 pence on the news.
