LONDON (Alliance News) - Filtronic PLC, which makes microwave electronics products for the wireless telecoms infrastructure market, on Friday named Michael Tyerman as its finance director, promoting him from his role as interim head of finance.
In a statement, the company said Rob Smith will give up his role as chief financial officer and continue as chief executive officer.
Tyerman joined Filtronic as financial controller of its broadband business in 2007, before being promoted to the position of group financial controller in 2009. He has been interim head of finance for Filtronic since July 2015. He owns 1,271 shares in the company.
Shares in Filtronic were up 13% on Friday morning at 8.60 pence.
