Fidelity Asian Values Outperforms But Changing Benchmark Index

27th Mar 2015 10:07

LONDON (Alliance News) - Fidelity Asian Values PLC Friday said it outperformed its benchmark index in the first half of its financial year but said it will change its benchmark from August.

In the six months ended January 31, the trust said its net asset value per share increased by 9.2% whilst its share price rose by 10.8%, both outperforming its benchmark index, the MSCI All Countries Far East ex Japan Index measured in pounds, which rose by 8.2% in the same period.

Its net asset value per share stands at 278.45 pence compared to 255.99 pence at the end of the last financial year.

The trust said it has decided to change its benchmark index from the start of the next financial year in August to the MSCI Asia Pacific Ex Japan index as it is more widely used by its peers and includes all countries its current index does, with the addition of India and Australia.

The trust did not propose any dividend for the first-half.

Fidelity Asian shares were down 0.1% to 256.80 pence per share on Friday morning.
