(Alliance News) - Ferrexpo PLC on Tuesday said it has named Lucio Genovese as its new chair effective immediately, replacing Steve Lucas.
Geneovese was previously on the board of the iron ore pellet firm from 2007 to 2014 and returned as a non-executive director in February 2019. He is succeeding Lucas whose resignation was announced in May, with the company citing "personal reasons and other business commitments" as the reason for the decision.
"The board and management of the company would like to thank Steve Lucas for his leadership and guidance over the past four years. Through his extensive experience, he has helped lead the company to the strong position it is in today. In succeeding Steve, Lucio Genovese brings a deep understanding of the company, and over 30 years of experience of the mining and metals sectors, including through his current positions on the boards of Mantos Copper and Nevada Copper Inc. and until recently also as chair of Firestone Diamonds," said Acting Chief Executive Jim North.
Ferrexpo said it currently working to to hire one more independent non-executive director to its board.
The stock was trading 0.5% lower at 189.90 pence each on Tuesday morning in London.
