LONDON (Alliance News) - Feedback PLC Tuesday said the medical imaging technology developed by subsidiary TexRAD, in partnership with the University of Sussex, has been shown to assist in the early and accurate prognosis and treatment of patients diagnosed with bowel cancer.
According a press release issued by the University of Sussex, bowel cancer kills more than 16,000 people a year in the UK, making it the nation's second-most common cause of cancer death after lung cancer.
The technology is said to help hospitals to make earlier and more accurate treatment decisions and survival assessments for patients with bowel cancer.
According to the statement, the technology has been shown in trials to enable early diagnosis of those bowel-cancer patients not responding to the standard cancer therapy better than other available tumour markers.
The markers also showed the ability to assess at an early stage the likelihood of survival, distinguishing patients who will have a good prognosis from those having poor prognosis.
Feedback shares were up 1.1% at 1.44 pence on Tuesday afternoon.
