LONDON (Alliance News) - African budget carrier Fastjet PLC on Tuesday said it has secured approval to operate a route between Tanzania and Malawi.
The new route, which will fly between Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and the Malawi capital of Lilongwe, will start operating next month.
"Whilst we are directing much of our efforts to prepare for the planned launch of the fastjet Zimbabwe and fastjet Zambia airlines, we continue to work hard on growing our Tanzanian network. This significant step links two thriving commercial centres and provides the population of both countries with an affordable and reliable air services," said Ed Winter, Fastjet's chief executive.
Fastjet shares were up 1.2% to 100.20 pence on Tuesday.
