LONDON (Alliance News) - Information services company Experian PLC Friday said it has divested the Colombia document-outsourcing business of Experian Computec S.A. to Hermes Documentos S.A.S., a Colombian investor.
The business was acquired as part of Experian's acquisition of Computec in 2011. Computec also owns a credit bureau in Colombia.
Computec?s products include the provision of on-line credit reports, scores, identity validation tools, and fraud prevention services.
Experian said the divestment will free up resources to focus on growing the core data and analytics businesses in Colombia, while developing of other Experian products in this region.
The company said document-outsourcing revenues for the year ended March 31, were USD40 million and had been reported as part of the Latin America business. It didn't provide financial details of the agreement with Hermes Documentos.
Experian shares were quoted at 1,258.73 pence Friday morning, down 11.27 pence.
