(Alliance News) - Experian PLC said Thursday it acquired US healthcare access and payments firm MyHealthDirect Inc for an undisclosed sum as it looks to expand its US health business.
FTSE 100-listed credit services firm Experian has been supplied by MyHealthDirect since 2017, with the acquisition complementing its strengths in the financial and administrative segment of the US healthcare sector.
"It represents another step in our strategy to use the power of data to transform the healthcare sector, offering patients increased control, simplicity and transparency," Experian said in a statement.
MyHealthDirect provides subscription-based software to help coordinate appointment, scheduling and payment processes for both healthcare providers and patients.
Shares in Experian were 1.2% higher at 2,528.00 pence in London on Thursday.
