Tullow Oil PLC - West Africa-focused oil and gas producer - Hires Phuthuma Nhleko as an independent non-executive director & chair-designate. Nhleko was chief executive and later executive chair of pan-African mobile phone carrier MTN Group Ltd. The South African national also has served on the boards of BP PLC, Anglo American PLC, Nedbank Group Ltd and Old Mutual Ltd. "I am impressed with the successful turnaround and transformational refinancing that allows Tullow to build on its strong position and reputation within the African oil and gas sector," comments Nhleko.

CPPGroup PLC - Leeds-based products and services for financial services and insurance sectors - Hires Simon Pyper as chief financial officer, starting January 1. Pyper was CFO and CEO of formerly London-listed media agency Be Heard. He also has been CFO of AIM-listed Global Data PLC and of Datamonitor PLC. Last month, Oliver Laird resigned as CFO of CPPGroup and will leave on October 31.

Compass Group PLC - Chertsey, Surrey-based catering firm - Hires Arlene Isaacs-Lowe and Sundar Raman as non-executive directors, starting November 1 and January 1, respectively. Isaacs-Lowe is a special adviser at rating firm Moody's Corp, having previously been global head of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Schroder AsiaPacific Fund PLC - seeks long-term growth from investments across region's equity markets - Hires Julia Goh as an independent non-executive director, starting Monday. Goh was chief operating officer of Global Markets at Barclays Investment Bank, part of Barclays PLC, and global head of Prime Services Risk at Credit Suisse Group AG.
